River of Life is a worship experience we offer that, as its name suggests, will be ever-moving and ever-renewing for people’s spirits, hopes and dreams. The images of water and rivers are used throughout the scriptures to connect to the life that God breathed in the genesis of creation and brought to fullness through the life of Jesus Christ. When we stand on a riverbank and stare at the same place in a river, the water moves through the same place ever differently - it never looks the same. Sometimes there is a white cap, sometimes it’s smooth, sometimes rivulets break away, and sometimes the water carries leaves or sticks. The more we watch, the more it seems to change. Perhaps that isn’t so different than where we are in worship with today’s generations of people looking for new ways to think about, reflect upon, sing about, and live the faith in a daily journey toward holiness of heart and life in God.
