How to join Grace Church
Becoming a member of Grace is actually a very simple procedure. On the fourth Sunday or Saturday morning of each month (unless it is a holiday weekend) an orientation session called ALL ABOUT GRACE is offered.
ALL ABOUT GRACE (childcare is provided) is an opportunity to:
- Learn more about Grace Church and ministry opportunities
- Visit with the pastors and other staff members
- Meet others in the congregation who have questions about the church, who are exploring membership at Grace, or who have made a decision to join
- Tour the Ridgeview building and learn about Center of Grace
- Learn more about your spiritual gifts and how to explore their use
- Be our guests at a supper
After attending ALL ABOUT GRACE, those participants who are not already members may choose to become members by joining on the third weekend of the following month either at one of the Sunday morning services (8:00 a.m., 9:15 a.m., or 10:45 a.m.) or any Saturday night service (5:30 p.m.) If the third Sunday is not convenient, arrangements can be made for an alternate time. Those seeking to become members are required to have been baptized. We do accept baptism in other Methodist Churches as well as other denominations. Those who have not received baptism may do so at the service in which they choose to join or on the Second Sunday of the month when we ordinarily have baptisms.
Although we do not want to diminish the importance of full membership, our main concern is that people feel that they have found a home at Grace and want to become involved. For some that may take longer than others. Therefore, a commitment to join Grace is not required in order to attend ALL ABOUT GRACE.
Most people who have recently worshipped at Grace at least twice will receive an invitation to attend ALL ABOUT GRACE, however, we sometimes miss someone, so if you are interested in learning more about Grace and/or about membership, please contact Brian Steele, Director of Congregational Life, 913-859-0111, Ext. 208, or Email bsteele@gracech.org.
