Small Groups Information Form

Men of Grace
Men of Grace is for all men and friends of Grace UMC to join in opportunities for interaction and fellowship as it relates to real life issues. Men of Grace have traditionally met for breakfast the 3rd Sunday of the month, however, this year will find them meeting as follows:
Sunday Morning, 7:30 a.m.: 9/16, 12/16, 3/17
Sunday Evening, 6:30 p.m.: 10/21, 1/20, 4/21
Saturday Morning, 8:00 a.m.: 11/18, 2/17, 5/19
All meetings are held in Fellowship Hall at the Center of Grace, 520 S. Harrison, unless otherwise noted. For reservations call Sheila Bishop, 913-859-0111, Ext. 206. For information call John French, 913-768-8875 or Sam Bartee, 913-782-8840.

United Methodist Women (UMW)
This group is for all women of the church. General meetings are held 6 to 7 times a year with small Fellowship meetings monthly. Fellowships meet the fourth Thursday in the morning, the third Monday in the evening, and the second Tuesday in the evening.

This mission-oriented ministry uses their hands to serve God through construction and maintenance projects. No special skills are required. Just a desire to help others. All persons 12 and older are invited to participate.

Disciple I Bible Study
This is a 34 week study of the Biblical story from Creation to the New Jerusalem. It covers Old and New Testaments with the participants reading 80% of the Bible.

Disciple II Bible Study
After completing Disciple I, Disciple II spends 32 weeks on an in-depth study of Genesis-Exodus and Luke-Acts.

Disciple III Bible Study
After Completing Disciple I, Disciple III is a 32 week study of the Prophets and letters of Paul.

Prayer Chain
Requests for prayer support are received by the chair of the Prayer Chain, then passed on to a group of dedicated Christians who offer intercessory prayer for the person or conditions needing this prayer support and ministry.


Social Opportunities

Dinners for Nine
Small group opportunities to eat one meal a month together for five months, beginning September and February.

Sports
A variety of sports are offered throughout the year on a seasonal basis, including co-ed volleyball, co-ed softball, and men's basketball. Watch the bulletin and Grace Notes for signup times and location. Soccer and Basketball for children are offered on Saturdays in January and February.

Other
The Sports, Recreation & Fellowship Committee offers activities throughout the year including:  Friday Family Movie Nights, Family Camping, Chiefs tailgate party, Pumpkin Patch, T-Bones Baseball game and more.  Coming in 2007 Trivia Night.  Watch the newsletter, bulleting and website for upcoming events.
